Ben Prince is an award-winning and highly-regarded pianist and music director based in San Francisco who has accompanied and directed countless musicals, benefits, and cabarets. As a solo piano bar entertainer, he has played for twelve years at San Francisco’s top piano bar, Martuni’s, and has entertained audiences all over the world on Carnival and Holland America Cruise lines. Mr. Prince is particularly proud of his work as music director for San Francisco's community musical theatre company, Ray of Light Theatre. Since 2005, he has music-directed many of their productions such as Bat Boy: The Musical, Songs for a New World, The Rocky Horror Show, The Full Monty, and The Who's Tommy, for which he received a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Music Director. He also music-directed the West Coast premiere of Jerry Springer: The Opera, for which he also received a BATCC nomination, and the West Coast premieres of Carrie: The Musical and Heathers: The Musical. Mr. Prince has also music directed productions for theaters throughout the Bay Area including Woodminster Summer Musicals, 42nd Street Moon, Berkeley Playhouse, the University of San Francisco College Players, New Conservatory Theatre Centre, and the San Francisco Playhouse, as well as numerous benefit concerts for the Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation. Originally from Indianapolis, Mr. Prince holds a degree in composition from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
